dc.description.abstract | Lysias¿ speech in Plato¿s Phaedrus constitutes a key text in the demonstration of how the contextualization of the speech in its communicative intention is key for the comprehension of its function. In this function the speech is rendered clear without the need of a deeper meaning. Another issue is the role of the speech when located in a different communicative context and with a different intention. Making this distinction is a useful and necessary exercise. The various levels of construction of the platonic text provide a clarification in this regard. | en_US |
