dc.description.abstract | The teaching of design in Spain can be traced back to the 1960s, and has gradually been defined in successive educational plans drafted by the corresponding educational authorities which continue right up until the present moment. As a form of learning and a skill associated with the conception and representation of forms, drawing has always been one of the bedrock elements in training future designers. That being said, its status within the aforementioned educational plans, and in the subsequent applied programmes and curriculums, has also changed. An examination of the various plans with regards the teaching of drawing in them reveals significant innovations. The contents have been expanded, new focuses have been introduced and the denominations of the different courses in drawing have varied substantially. There has also been a fluctuation in the number of hours dedicated to the teaching of contents engaged with drawing. This is owing to the fact that, as the overall educational curriculum for teaching design has gradually changed and new subjects have been added, the specific contents of drawing have been decreasing proportionally with regards other subjects. This situation varies greatly between Spanish design schools, as it depends on the relative diversity of the educational curriculums drafted by the different regional educational authorities in the exercise of their legislative mandate. | es |
