dc.description.abstract | This paper focuses at the experience in the framework of the literacy in a second language (Spanish) field in working with adults within the NGO Accem (www.accem.es), a non profit organization aimed at refugees and immigrants. In this context, where literacy skills are imposed, we try to develop in learners the ability to predict the content and make assumptions of common text in students? daily lives by reading comprehension strategies. In short, the ultimate goal of any process of identification and text comprehension is a pragmatic purpose, action-oriented and that conditions all educational practice. The importance of materials is essential in this process of appropriation of literacy. The paper presents itself how a whole corpus of material resources is selected as a result of the experience. .
