dc.description.abstract	The 20th century is knows as one of the periods of most desacratization in history. Myths are far back in time. Nevertheless, the star system in Hollywood and other film industries, as well as other expressions of cult in mechanical art are to be considered as a 'deteriorated' but anyway important manifestations of religious or pseudoreligious consumption. This text introduces a monographic issue of the journal Archivos de la filmoteca on the star system today.
