| This paper approaches the experience of unease in Chantal Maillard?s work, which we could identify as an ?experience of emptiness?. Through the analysis of her works (poems, diaries, essays, etc.), and also through a theoretical frame based on a psychoanalytic and a philosophical approach, we will conclude that it is only through the working out of this experience (in which emptiness cannot be blocked or even fullfilled), that it can be understood as an ?anyone?s experience?, and therefore as a ?common? experience.
