La pobreza es una de las principales lacras de nuestras sociedades y desafortunadamente no es reciente. En el presente artículo me propongo acercarme de la mano del filósofo y humanista valenciano Juan Luis Vives al problema de la pobreza. Vives fue el primer pensador europeo en escribir un tratado De subventione pauperum proponiendo soluciones al problema de la pobreza. Recientemente la también filósofa valenciana Adela Cortina ha publicado un nuevo libro donde, siguiendo la aportación de Vives, propone enfrentarse al problema de la pobreza o ?aporofobia? desde una perspectiva ética y de justicia. Poverty is one of the main scourges of our societies and unfortunately it is not recent. In this article propose to approach the hand of the philosopher and valencian humanist Juan Luis Vives to the problem of poverty. Vives was the first European thinker to write a treatise De subventione pauperum proposing solutions to the problem of poverty. Recently the valencian philosopher Adela Cortina has published a new book where, following the contribution of Vives, proposes to face the problem of poverty or ?aporophobia? from an ethical and justice perspective.
