| In his work Facta et dicta memorabilia, Valerius Maximus bequeaths to posterity many anecdotal stories during his life experienced by some Roman writers. After a previous definition of requirements to be met by a story to be considered anecdote, we proceed to the collection of these and their transmission in later literature; then we analyze the biographical and personality traits of those Roman authors that they adduced from them. | |||
