dc.description.abstract | The Ecloga Theoduli is a bucolic poem from the ninth century whose purpose is to demonstrate the superiority of Christian dogma over pagan superstition. To prove this, the allegory is used seeking to assimilate the pagan myth to the negative things from a Christian perspective, the diabolism. One of the traits that can identify the demonic in the work, and highly relevant, is the appearance of animals related to the devil in medieval Christian thought and bestiary. This paper provides an analysis of the animal allegory that appears in the work to demonstrate the daimonic assimilation of its appearance in the pagan interventions. | es |
