| Since Ancient Greek era, the character of Iphigenia is the symbol of female sacrifice for homeland glory. Many authors represent their homesickness with their own version of the Euripides? Iphigenia in Tauris. Therefore, Lesya Ukrainka, an Ukrainian writer from the early 20th century, is based on Euripides? Iphigenia in Tauris and Goethe?s version of it. She expresses her own desire to return to her home. In her brief drama ???????? ? ??????? ?Iphigenia in Tauris?, it is shown the perfect symbiosis of the classical Greek culture with the Ukrainian 20th century one. I shall present the reception of Ancient Greek myth, located in actual Crimea, in Lesya Ukrainka?s literary work. | |||
