dc.description.abstract | Ecological studies on a dune transect. II. Phenology. A phenologic sampling of a population including 78 plant species, made following Ellenberg's method, has been used to assess the differential effect of wind and other climatic factors on the phenology of plant species and communities that inhabit the great dune named El Pujol, in the Devesa de l'Albufera, near Valencia (Spain). The wind do not produce fase differences at the beginning of phenologic process, but it generates a reduction on time of these processes -leaf emission, growth, floration. The eolian effect operate on the comunities located near the coastline and exposed. The shoreward communities, protected against the wind, and the fixed dune communities, are favoured by microclimatic effects, that increase with the plant cover. | |
