| dc.description.abstract | Gender violence is a trending topic in Spanish Law. The normative development carried out in recent years in our country shows a positive evolution on this subject. The initial approach always went from protection to women, but it begins to be taken into account that the child must also be protected in cases of gender violence. These minors, although they have been able to not be mistreated directly, suffer the psychological consequences of the episodes of abuse towards their mothers. It is necessary to address the situation of the child with completeness, since the relations between the parents will be tense in these cases and surely there have been established precautionary measures that prevent the communication between the parents. The child, therefore, will be directly affected by the problems related to their parents. It is highly discussed and delicate to assess what measures can be applied in situations where domestic violence against the child is not exercised, but gender violence in which the child may be affected by emotional abuse within the family environment. The existence of a right to communicate and relate to the father should also be weighted with the interest of the child, taking into account that the exercise of the same could, in some cases, endanger the safety of the child and the mother.
