dc.description.abstract	In this article we analyze the legal effects that Chilean legislation recognizes to Non-marital unions, based on the jurisprudential evolution that establishes patrimonial effects to this kind of couples, using different figures of Private Law, such as quasi-contract of community, de facto partnership, and even economic compensation. Then, we critically analyze the new act No. 20,830 that creates the Civil Union Partnership, arguing that although it is incorporated as a new family model, its effects are restricted to economic or patrimonial aspects, excluding the personal effects of marriage.	es
