dc.description.abstract | Tea Rooms. Mujeres obreras (1934) is a novel written by a working-class woman which intends to be a read for working-class women. Luisa Carnés, postponed for a long time may be due to her position as a woman and the militant commitment of her literary production, obliquely portrays the Second Spanish Republic society, but above all represents and questions the exploitation of women, playing with reiterations, metaphors, images and aesthetic innovations in an avant-garde tone, from a direct and clear denouncing language. I intend to study the function of the literary mechanisms and the poetics of this novel, where simplicity and avant-garde elements, far from being opposed, converge in a common objective: to touch and to mobilise the readers towards the radical transformation of society, paying particular attention to the emancipation of the working woman. | es |
