| Este estudio busca identificar estereotipos de género en el proceso de cómo los jóvenes eligen sus carreras y materias a estudiar, así como la orientación que reciben para encontrar empleo. Esta investigación examina la autopercepción de género y la atribución de características masculinas o femeninas a las profesiones. El objetivo no es encontrar barreras objetivas de género a las oportunidades educativas o profesionales, sino examinar las percepciones de los jóvenes. También se analiza la orientación educativa y profesional que se brinda a los jóvenes para comprender las perspectivas adultas con respecto a los jóvenes con los que trabajan y evaluar si en su capacidad como personas orientadoras también transmiten estereotipos de género. Sus opiniones son a menudo trascendentales en las decisiones que toman las y los jóvenes al elegir carreras.This study seeks to identify gender stereotypes in the process of how young people choose their careers and subjects to study, as well as the guidance they receive to find employment. This research examines gender self-perception and the attribution of masculine or feminine characteristics to professions. The objective is not to find objective gender barriers to educational or professional opportunities, but rather to examine the perceptions of young people. It also engages with adults who provide educational and professional guidance to young people in order to understand their perspectives regarding the young people they work with and to assess if in their capacity as guidance counsellors they also transmit gender stereotypes. Their opinions are often transcendental in the decisions taken by young people in choosing careers or how to approach searching for jobs. | |
