dc.description.abstract	The phenomenon of cryptocurrencies, now planetary, suffers from a vacuum of protection at the level of the Central Authority which generates shaded areas in a particularly delicate and sensitive sector. The strengths of a currency such as bitcoin (dematerialization, diffusion on a global level, the absence of institutional governance, the democracy of the tool and respect for privacy) also risk becoming the weak points that expose digital currencies to illegal uses ranging from tax crime to the financing of international terrorism. The contribution examines, in a transcontinental and Euro-EU perspective, the debated phenomenon, focusing especially its critical issues.	es
