dc.description.abstract | This chapter discusses the reasons for return organised around health and care, financial, and social reasons. It explores the return migration of retired British migrants from Spain, focusing on health and psychosocial wellbeing as key factors in facilitating migration decisions and experiences, and the outcomes of these decisions for returnees' wellbeing. The chapter utilises a holistic approach to wellbeing as including emotional, physical and social dimensions and draws on the broad definition offered by Gough and McGregor, who refer to human wellbeing as a relational state of being with others that enables the pursuing of one's goals and ultimately the achievement of quality of life. The chapter considers quotes and case-study examples from the interviews to highlight some of the key issues uncovered around return migration and psychosocial wellbeing. The identity of individuals and their location in Spain have been disguised in order to ensure interviewees' confidentiality. | es_ES |
