Capacity to differentiate between weather and climate and opinions about plausibility of climate change have been studied in secondary school students at different academic levels. Two questionnaires were administred to 151 secondary school students in 8th-12th grades (ages 13-17). Based on the scores obtained by students and the analyses of variance made, it can be concluded that students: a) distinguish appropriately between weather and climate, and students' academic level improves significantly their capacity to differentiate between them; and b) show adequate perceptions about the plausibility of climate change, but these perceptions do not change significantly with the academic level. |
